Dichroic Maze

We were commissioned by NE1 to design, fabricate, and install an immersive experience along Newcastle Quayside. Purpose-moulded polycarbonate panels, laminated with dichroic film, were framed by repurposed concrete blocks that also function as seating.

Titled The Dichroic Maze, the installation was designed and built in our Ouseburn studio for summer 2021. Throughout the day, the changing light and shifting perspectives create an ever-evolving play of colour and shadow - offering a different experience with each visit.

Planting design was thoughtfully provided by Southern Green, adding a natural layer to the vibrant, reflective environment.
