Patina Bakery

At Edinburgh Park, for Lemon & Honey with Parabola

Head here for images of the sister Patina Venue

As part of our work with developers Parabola and hospitality partners Patina, Raskl helped deliver a high-end bakery and café within the wider venue at 1 New Park Square, Edinburgh Park. In contrast to the darker, moodier tones of the restaurant, bar and performance space, the bakery and café - operating under the name Lemon & Honey - were conceived as bright, fresh and inviting areas. A key feature of the proposal was the inclusion of a state-of-the-art viennoiserie and bakery, screened from the café by a glazed divider. Long-time Kiln collaborator Shynara Bakisheva of FAB Bakery was introduced to set up and run the bakery operation.

While the main venue features rich materials, moody hues and bold detailing across the dining and event areas, Lemon & Honey offers a lighter material palette and a more open, accessible feel. Here, the chevron patterns on the counter are replaced with natural oak, and Roma Imperial marble is used extensively for the counter and table tops. The café features extensive display areas for fresh baked goods, some illuminated in the generous glazing, as well as in the back bar shelving and refrigerated counter.
